Steve; I don't believe BRI's have zero loss. The loss is essential
to avoiding echo/singing/howling/sks feedback. But it's been
years since I even looked at VNL much less grokked same.
They DO offer {near} perfect noise level, which helps a lot.
What would be ideal would be a way for the KXTD to enable CO-based
conferencing. That would be a great trick.
And yes the ILEC's squandered ISDN. Now, they are getting almost
sensible. You can get a BRI in MD for $16 more than 2xPOTS; and
for ~3xPOTS, you get a BRI with flat-rate data bearer! Of course,
SeeAndPee blew many millions on equipping every CO..and they'll
never get that back.
