Actually, here in SBC Illinois land, an ISDN-BRI is only about $50/month, or flat-rate
(unmetered local calls) is about $90/month. Pretty reasonable really. The extra cost
seems to mostly be for the digital cards on the PBX.

The key thing here is ANALOG lines. There is no loss on the digital lines, (T1,
ISDN BRI, or PRI). That is why this conference chip is offered as an option to boost
analog lines. If you use the digital lines as this IS a DIGITAL system then there is
no loss and no worry. Again, it's not Panasonic's fault the LEC's and CLEC want to
charge SO much for their digital line products. They make it cost prohibitive for the
small business aka key system user to afford the technology. Oh the horror of large
corporate glut, and the free enterprise system that makes the telco divestiture and
this country so wonderful.
