I've got the Panasonic dealer who is going to set it up and install it; that's not a problem, but in the meantime I wanted to have a play with it and set up some basic stuff, and also have the ability to change things later without having to pay a maintenance guy every time I want to change a setting.
As quoted below, you asked where you could get the programming software from and if anyone could assist.
The US TDA and TAW systems are unlike any Panasonic systems we've seen before. When I deliver my first ones, I wonder exactly what I'm going to do with the software and programming instructions. Most of my customers will not want or need a manual and/or software. Some may insist on a user password and access and I have no problem with that after I change the installer access password.
Today would have been the day I started TDA class, except for a small medical emergency. Maybe next month :-)
I don't expect Ford to endorse me ripping my car to bits, but I'd like to be able to change the radio channel or swap the light bulbs without taking it back to the dealership :-)
Carl, it's all very interesting about the dealership 'cartel' not wanting anyone else to sell the stuff ad-hoc, but seeing as I have the system now, I'd like to pay with it... :-)
I did a rather vague response for a reason and it was pretty fun :-)
#1 Michael you asked this group for the software for the TDA.
If I had it and sent it to you how would it work? We don't have no steenking call barring here.
Would the US software even talk to your box?
#2 I have no clue what the UK TDA dealer requirements are. And I wonder if you bought a UK box or a US box.
n.b. who's Kelly ?
Kelly is Kelly Green. He works for Panasonic and they do monitor this group.
