We have a TVS-50 with our KX-TD816. During night mode it is answering and providing a custom menu giving callers the option to press 1 for emergency service (which should forward to off site answering service) or to leave a message.

In the custom menu, pressing one transfers to extension 205, (an xdp)
which is set to call forward to co to the offsite number. It works
somewhat. When the caller presses 1, they get hold music and the system
picks up an outside line and dials. The problem is that the answer
supervision doesn't seem to work. The caller gets hold music until
about 20-30 seconds after the answering service picks up. By that time
often the operator has hung up or thinks the caller hung up.

I tried setting the 205 extension into the alternate extension group and
setting the alternate extension transfer sequence to FXD on the TVS.
When I do this, the system picks up and immediately hangs up the line,
and then just kicks the caller back to the custom menu.

Any thoughts? The way we have it set up seems awkward (xfer to an XDP
which then forwards), but it was from a suggestion from the ablecomm forum.

Thanks,

Brock
