Talk about frustrating...I set up a phantom ext #141 (using the
Programmator tool) (left that part out, sorry), and I even tried making
a mailbox 141, left it a message, and no luck. However, I think
something isn't quite working right though. With a phantom extension, I
should be able to dial it, correct? Because when I do, I get "Not
Valid".

Any ideas?
Thanks all!

If there is no phantom ext or real extension, then the TVS does not
think that an extension exists so it will not light the mw lamp (I
think), also the ksu will not allow vm transfer (VTR) because it too
does not think there is such a number.

If you have phantoms set up, then it should work as you want. It is
helpful to keep the box numbers and the phantom numbers the same,
although I suppose you can link 901 and 141 if you need to. One thing to
check is do not set "all calls transfer to mailbox" in the tvs mailbox
settings. If you do then it will ignore the mw lamps. There are other
ways to do that, for instance turn on "call blocking" from inside the
mailbox auto attendant settings (by touch tone, not by pc).

Ok...I've tried this, but it doesn't seem to work. I've set a
DSS button on my phone to be a Message Waiting button ext 141 using the
Programmator (as my manual does not have the correct information to do
it by hand), I've set mailbox 901 to ext 141, left a message in the box,
no lights light up. I've tried manually turning on the lamp by dialing
701141, and I get "MW Not Accepted". I know I must be missing
something...any ideas?

Thanks all,

Subject: KX-T: TVS mailboxes without a real extension

Hi all...I've gotten most of the TVS system we have here programmed the
way we need it except for one thing. Is it possible to have a mailbox
that is not associated with an extension appear on several phones or DSS
consoles and have the button for it light when there is a message? I
thought this would be possible perhaps through the use of phantom
extensions, but I'm not sure.

As usual, any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
--Brian
