Joe made a good point (from his Blackberry so I don't think it got to
the list so I'm quoting it here).

Check all the vm ports. What vm do they have, a TVS50 with 2 ports, or
something larger with 4 ports?
if port 3 for example, is bad or disconnected, then every third
simultaneous call would not  be picked up by the vm.

In that case, though, they should still hear the incoming call ring
prior to going to voicemail, so it may not apply for you.
