Marc,
We actually have a CO button per DID trunk, and CW etc
is like you describe.
Buttons are not at a premium, and we like the idea if
a rep is really hot that day, he can have 4 calls at
once! Most customers have a full 4 DID trunk load,
setting on co 9-12. We have one master/slave customer
that will shortly need the second DID card and we'll
load a full 8 DID trunks to it.
Part of their DID number group will be directed at
XDPs for direct faxing to each workstation. They
already have two DID trunks to a fax server, that
seems to blow it's brains out once a week, the 1232
handling those DIDs would be much more stable;-)
We gave up on GCO and loop keys years ago, most of our
customers are key system upgrades and know "lines and
hold" inside out. They glaze over when we talk of
several lines "under a button" and the next question
is "ok, how do I tell joe to pick up line 6???"
I was not too kind the other day about the Pano
firmware. I know a lot of the features are mutually
exclusive, but with a little thought, the kxt could be
made so much feature friendly.
For example, my problem of the other day could be
solved with what should be an easy add to the
firmware. Add a programmable follow-on id for each
CO. The VM follow-on would be just as it is today,
except, when the kxt went to send to the TVS, it did
one more check. If it had no id to send (like a DIL
1-N forward) it would check the new CO fo/id, if
blank, send nothing, otherwise send the id that was
programmed. The four rep lines could be sent to each
reps vmbox, or to a dummy box, all reps are busy.
IE: 499: CO FO/ID
CO 1:not assigned
CO 2:not assigned
CO 3:123
CO 4:124
CO 5:125
CO 6:126
or: 499: CO FO/ID
CO 1:not assigned
CO 2:not assigned
CO 3:300
CO 4:300
CO 5:300
CO 6:300
while I'm dreaming, lets add:
498:CO MOH
CO 1:not assigned
CO 2:1 (1-4 music source on a 1232 m/s)
CO 3:1
CO 4:2
CO 5:3
CO 6:4
CO 7:T1 (beep)
CO 8:T2 (beep-beep)
have fun!

oh, my bad Monday, the tech sent me on -
the user programmed speed dials over the other reps co
line buttons!!! Sometimes I luck out.
