KX-T: KX-T624 and low volume door box

I have a small business customer with a  624 [recent install] and all wiring with new CAT5 except the door box was run on 18-4.  2 conductors were used for the door box and two for a door release.  The low volume is even when the door release is NOT being activated.   Any ideas.  I did replace the door box once and had some improvement.  Could I have TWO bad door boxes?   Thanks.   Bob Bruskin Halstead Electronics Ltd.
