Interestingly, *aoo40_ui_lt_po-files.zip\ui\* now contains three
folders: "hi," "lt," and "lt_org" with very similar if not identical
folder structure and files. It used to be just one named "lt." Is it
supposed to be that way? If so, which exact folder was updated and which
one I should translate?

This is all good to know! Still, the latest Lithuanian translation
improvements for AOO 3.4.1. are not reflected in the <.po> files of AOO
4.0 for the simple reason they have never been uploaded to Pootle.
Can you update the <.po> files for AOO 4.0 with the ones I completed for
AOO 3.4.1 so I can proceed with the translation of the current version
of AOO without losing my work on the previous version (which, again, I
was not quick enough to upload).
You can download the LT <.po> files of AOO 3.4.1 from here
<https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1210965/aoo341_lt_po-files.zip>.
I've included *only* the files that have been revised and improved, the
folder structure and the names of the files have been kept intact.
done, you can get the updated po files from
http://people.apache.org/~jsc/translation/aoo40_ui_lt_po-files.zip
It's the UI only, help is in a separate file in the same directory

Hello,
I started the Lithuanian translation of AOO 3.4.1
<https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=121877> in the late
Spring/early Summer of this year while AOO 4.0 was approaching.
I was making a slow, yet consistent progress, completing about 50-60% of
the translation, but was then side-tracked for a couple of months by
other important matters.
The reason for the slow tempo of my work was mainly due to my effort to
bring the LT translation up to a whole new level of integrity by
reaching to its core and revising some of its basic root metaphors (such
as the user-oriented chancellery analogy of "desktop-folder-file" used
in English and almost entirely lost in Lithuanian which it should not
have been).
In a couple of weeks I will be in a position to resume my work on the
Lithuanian translation. In addition, a few days ago I was approached by
another potential volunteer whose help would speed things up.
My question is this: at this point, it would be more reasonable to
proceed with the translation of AOO 4.0, yet I don't want to lose the
precious work I've done on the translation of AOO 3.4.1. Can I submit my
current PO files for AOO 3.4.1. so they get integrated into the language
files for AOO 4.0 and then can I receive the PO files for AOO 4.0?
It would definitely make sense to focus on AOO 4.0 and where most of the
work form 3.4.1 is nece3ssary anyway. We have already Lithuanian added
on Pootle in the 4.0 project (https://translate.apache.org/lt/aoo40/
andhttps://translate.apache.org/lt/aoo40help/)
The related po files can be found under
http://people.apache.org/~jsc/translation/aoo40_ui_lt_po-files.zip
http://people.apache.org/~jsc/translation/aoo40_help_lt_po-files.zip
Nothing happened on Pootle so far in the 4.0 project that means the po
files should be up-to-date.
We are currently planning how to move forward, continue working on the
4.0 project or create a new project for ongoing translations (fix
problem or general improvements, completion) and a language update
release.

Aivaras Stepukonis
