Looking like flow alpha testing for the train station in about two to three
weeks... Minor visual buffs to be instituted along the way to help with
focusing on gameplay rather than appearances.
I've about tripled the length of the original train station d1_01 map by
creating routes through previously inaccessible areas. MAJOR brush reworking
required.
Survivors start outside the trainstation near the tunnel in a safe room that
is a maintenance access room in the wall beneath the smoke stacks. They are
granted access to all areas at track level between the tunnel and the depot.
Hunter territory. Once inside the depot, flow is virutally identical to
retail until the Nova Prospekt sequence. Instead of turning left and
entering the cage going down the hall where you meet up with Barney, you go
up the stairs, around the back of the station (tentatively kitchen and
cafeteria) to the side where the Vortigaunt is sweeping. Down that wing into
a new door, which houses a receiving area and a freight elevator that starts
an event. Once on the second floor, you pass through a lost and found and
unclaimed baggage storage on your way you can see through the windows to the
station interior below.
Once at the second floor rear of the station again, you go down stairs to
the door at the end of the hall near Barney's security center, and then the
rest is identical where the one way drop through two windows while in a
forced crouch is very scary in versus. I plan to make that wall penetrable
by bullets and to provide a route back up should you want to rescue anyone.
whew... hope that wasn't tmi
I'm a big fan of versus and this map will have several features tailored to
special infected access as well. Vents, broken/breakable floors and walls
etc...
Oh and it takes place at around midnight.... ooooh spooky.
Call them Tenant Improvements! :D

Best regards,
Jim Castile
