What age are you getting your puppy? An 8-10 week old puppy requires constant attention. They are at the stage where it is critical you get them out to potty train them. Most will not sleep through the night and require you to take them out every 2 hours.
The first 16 weeks of a puppies life is critical, you need to be prepared for it. I recommend you get the book Before and After getting your puppy by Dr. Ian Dunbar.
