I can imagine how frustrating it is.  You know I used to not know too much about the Doodles, and being that I have owned and shown several AKC and Rare Breeds, of course I heard all too well the negativity about the "Labradoodle".

What turned me around on them?   Working for a service dog facility.   These dogs have been truly wonderful and amazing to work with, and I would take them over the purebred labs, goldens, or poodles anyday.   And I take care of all three of those on a daily basis as well.

There are people who will jump on the mixed breed, hybrid, or new breed bandwagon simply because they don't have proper papers for their dogs to begin with.   And obviously too much of that does go on with the Doodles, but not anymore than in other purebred or mixed breed dogs that get exploited.     And for the breeders who are doing proper health testing etc.  I see such a quality in the way things are being done.

Peoples minds can be changed.   And it is the positive breedergs doing positive things with great dogs that make the difference.     :)

If someone told me even a year a go that I would end up liking Doodles, and actually thinking of owning one, I would have thought they were crazy.   So just try to give people the positive info.   If they are totally closed minded, there is nothing you can do anyway,  but you just might show them a side they didn't realize was there.

ps.  I would like to see some "interactive" websites where you could actually feel that soft fleece coat.     :)

Hi Kelly,
Cindy here....I own http://www.doodlesandpoos.com and can sympathize
with your....I get such backlash everyday from people. My site
leads people to doodle and poo dogs be it through rescues or
breeders. I have gotten so many hate letters from people that you
can't imagine. From what I can tell, it seems to be that since they
are not considered a "breed" yet, people get really nuts about it.
But as we all know they are just as loving as any other dog! I love
my labradoodle and my cockapoo! My Labradoodle is from rescue and
my cockapoo from a breeder.
Any dog can misbehave as we all know if they are not spent time with
a trained with kindness. (your neighbors probably)
Chin up and don't let them get to you!!
