EEEWWW, silvering sounds so much more appealing than grizzle!!! Rexy is a
grizzle head, LOL!!! He is around a year and a half, so I don't think he is
going to turn silver, bummer!! He is an awesome little doggy, probably the
easiest dog I have ever fostered! Learned sit, down and heel in a matter of 2
tries and is reliable on all. Funny how I started fostering these doodles so
that I could tell people that they are high energy, and hard to deal with and
found that the total opposite is true. I can't imagine what a well bred one is
capable of!!! Because I am such a proud and loving foster
mommy...http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=6496425
    I just love him!!!

is from the poodle - they are born black but by about 8 weeks old
you will see the hair around the eyes and muzzle starting to grow in light
gray. They change to fully silver over a couple months. In the poodle an
experienced breeder can tell from birth by the coloration of the hair
between the pads of the feet which ones are most likely to turn silver.

The white hairs mixed in through the body is called grizzle - it appears
over the course of a few years - more noticeable after the initial puppy
coat changes. It can be a few hairs to perhaps 50% of the coat.
