Did you know that some of your buttons might be quite valuable? There is a market for old or unusual buttons: I suspect that a collection of your old buttons in an old time might be worth checking out before you discard it, and if it belonged to your grandmother, the whole thing might be quite a treasure to a collector. Some years ago, a nearby Women's Institute had a stall selling members' donated buttons for charity, and were overwhelmed by the determined collectors who turned up unexpectedly. Only when it was too late did they realise they had sold buttons for pence which should have raised pounds each. Even quite battered and boring buttons turned out to be worth a lot.
