I have started a button box since moving here to Denver almost 11 years ago, but it doesn't have many buttons in it :-( My mum (Liz in Melbourne) has one that she's bbuilt up over the years (well I used to be a tin don't know what it is now), but like Sue, as a kid I too, loved running my fingers through the buttons and looking at the buttons and sorting them. She has/had some very pretty ones I used to always hunt for. I'd do this as she sewed (of course I liked hunting through her sewing table, that a lovely wood one with blue satin padding, and I'd hunt for my favourite bits of trims and things :-)
Sorry, but I don't have enough to share to make a tree, but I do appreciate the revival of a memory from childhood. Cheers, Helen, in deliciously springy Denver.
