i think that it would be dangerous to put your city and state on the
internet, even though in other emails we have all done it. all you
need is a phone book in the city and state and then you have the
address of whoever you want. i live in a small town and all you have
to do is mention my last name and half the county residents can tell
you where i live. probably i am related to 1/4th of the entire city
consisting of about 8000. an internet stalker would love that and why
give in to such crazies.
i would especially be scared after the bombings both in the u.s.a. and
london to put a name anywhere. the way things are going we are going
to all be walking around with gas masks in our pocket books next to
pills that clean dirty water, foldable axes to cut out debree of fallen
building matter, and a cyanide pill to kill ourselves with if we are
taken captive . i wouldn't suggest anyone put their name, city and
state on any website, especially if you have ever been flamed. that
would be a scary thought if 80 crazy people showed up at your door
arguing over an email you sent. it hasn't happened, but it could, so i
would encourage as much privacy as can be given to anyone and everyone
might open up and talk a little more. if someone doesn't feel safe,
then the whole point of connecting with others on lace subjects is kind
of worthless.
most of you know each other from conventions and classes, so you
already have your name and sometimes addresses all over the forum.
that is very kind of you, but i think it would be best left unknown.
