It depends entirely on your purpose and how you intend to serve your end
users. What are you trying to present--what are users looking for? A website
is static--much like a piece of print literature. Your user can find
information, but can't add, offer suggests, etc. A blog is interactive--like
a conversation. And that conversation is with a group, not just a dialogue
between the website owner and themselves. A blog can be a piece of a website
or can stand alone. A blog is a time investment. To remain fresh, the owner
needs to post at least twice a week, daily is optimal. Depending on how you
design a website, once it is in place, it doesn't require as much "daily
maintenance." A blog is a piece of Web 2.0--a way to really make the web a
vehicle for social networking.

Subject: [lace-chat] blogs versus websites

I am having an interesting chat with my web-technie friends at the moment:
which is better - a blog or a website? I know you can link a website to a
blog but would like to leave that out of my question.

Could you also give an explanation for your preference?

Thanks
