I assumed the article was referring to paying for goods in large stores like Marks and Spencer or John Lewis. Most supermarkets in the UK no longer take cheques, so it's either debit/credit card or cash. Has anyone tried paying in Sainsburys or Tesco without entering their PIN in a card reader?
