Went to Sainsburys this afternoon (as I always do on a Tuesday), and found they had anticipated the manic behaviour of some and had a car park marshall, who was very helpful getting me into a disabled space after a short wait. I shall do my normal shopping next Tuesday.

I feel very sorry for one group of people who I don't know. In the car park was a couple who had a load of stuff in a trolley and several yards of Christmas wrapping paper which they were using to wrap whatever they had in the trolley. So whoever the giftees are, their presents have come from Sainsburys - I assume they were from small the non-food part of the store. Not a lot of thought there.

Tomorrow I shall make a sugar free trifle (DH is diabetic) and Thursday, I'll cook a turkey crown (neither of us likes legs or wings), sprouts (I love them), etc. That's as much effort as we make for something which seems to have lost its meaning. We've already checked that a couple of elderly neighbours who have no relatives are OK, and we'll pop round to them for a short while on Christmas Day with a small gift.

On Christmas Day, I'm sure there be a few of people who are on their own posting here, as well as some who aren't alone.
