"Everyone gets fruitcake." Joy Who has the best fruitcake? Here, some have abominable amounts of citron, which is probably the most commonly disliked fruit. Some are light, some dark, some soaked with too much liquor, others, not enough. Those in the US wonder what is the best and how to get it, if not available here. My mother used to make them, but perhaps someone has a good recipe?
My daughter when young, she read a Junie B story about a girl who wins a cake at a school cake walk/sale, and is surprised how heavy hers is (all sealed in aluminum foil), and is told it is fruitcake. She notes on the way home, that she can use it as a booster seat in the car, and states something like, "The seat you can eat." Very funny.
