Oh Toni - I do beg to differ. Unfortunately, the offspring of users of drugs (illicit and otherwise) are often tragically impaired. Physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities are common among babies/children of drug-addicted mothers. And the behavioral problems these children exhibit impact everyone with whom they come into contact... in their homes, schools (where taxpayers must foot the bill for their special education..., siphoning off precious funds which could be used for enhancing the educations of other children. I don't begrudge the services provided to the children, but the fact remains that drugs have had a VERY visible effect...
I grieve for the loss of species as well... This isn't about chosing ivory or drugs. They're both horrible problems on our fragile planet.
