XO is just like CT (or XT); it doesn't allow for the difference between *two* pairs being twisted simultaneously, immediately following a cross (as is the case most often, in grounds and motifs) and only *one* pair being twisted (for whatever reason; usually something to do with footside)... One can call a "spade" a "digging implement", but it's still *the same tool*, with the same limitations...
