I thought I should write because everyone seems to use either spangles bobbins or square ones. I was taught by a person who swore by the spangled bobbins, but I found that I like the continental ones best. I use pins(preferably hat pins or divider pins) to hold the bobbins still. I haven't used more than 30 to 40 pairs on any one pattern yet, but the pins every four or five pair will keep them from being tangled. I use some croched strips that were given me for that purpose any time I leave the pillow and bobbins because if it gets knocked off,They won't be tangled. They don't work well on the spangled bobbins. Since I do a lot of sewings in bobbin lace I began to use the continental one for ease of sewing and found out that I work faster and with fewer mistakes if I use them. For those of you who find spangled bobbins a problem, go ahead and try a few continentals you may find that you like them. Roslyn [EMAIL PROTECTED]
