Bobbins from the Schw�bische Alp are different and rare. They look like gigantic flemish bobbins (20 cm or so), with a cap on the upper part, over the thread. When you get old bobbins, the cap is often missing, but that is no problem when you use them. They are handled the same way the Erzgebirge bobbins are, hanging, and worked in your palms. We wrote about this earlier. The pillow from that region is also different. it is a ball (you could play soccer with, but only with steel-furnished shoes. They sometimes used sand as filling.). Advantage is, that you may work from one point to every direction on the pillow.
