I've never heard any forbidding edict against embroidery floss. Just a number of people who pointed out how hard it is to get BL-length single plies out of that 6-ply skein. For little projects (bookmarks, ornaments) where you only need a yard per bobbin, it wouldn't be bad, but I wouldn't want to try to unply several-yard lengths for bobbin pairs. I'd go for tatting cotton or silk or machine-sewing cotton for the colors. just my opinion, Robin P.
