They are very smoothe, so easy to tension. From a class on color in lace with Louise Colgan, I learned to use 100 for the ground and add a worker of 50 for the clothstitch (CTC) areas. I really like the luster of the shiny silks, much better than Gutterman (personal opinion). I use silk buttonhole twist for gimp. I've been buying it at rummage sales whenever I can find it, and have quite an assortment of colors. I believe it's about the weight of perle 8. Robin P.
