I have sewn lace onto a number of items of clothing and usually throw them all in the wash with no adverse reactions. I usually tack them on all around the edge and if the design is very open I also tack it down in a few strategic places with no stabiliser. I have just removed a piece of Bruge Bloemwork (my sample from a class) from the second thing it was stitched too (a sundress), darned if the dress has shrunk in the wash but the lace is okay. Well maybe the dress hasn't shrunk but I thought it might look a bit too tight this summer. :-) Janice
