Thanks, Ruth, but you did not tell everyone, that the torchon piece I made was from the pattern you put in the UK Lace Magazine a few issues ago. Not many torchon patterns stir me greatly, but that one did, with the tallies in the trails.
Ruth kindly helped me when I got stuck with the trails - I tried every way I could think of, but they did not look like hers - --- only because hers were a simple Half Stitch trail, while I was trying double half stitch (Cloth & Twist), and everything else But plain, simple half-stitch!!!!! Just shows how little I know about torchon!! Ruth also kindly reduced the pattern for the different thread I planned using - and Very kindly did not say anything to Helen, though I know she was bursting to!!! I also used colour - which is rare for me, so I really had Helen fooled (I am enjoying that, as it happens SO very rarely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)) :)) ) So much of the praise must go to Ruth.
