One person in our small group is working through The Torchon Workbook. We're cheering encouragement from the sidelines, and giving free advice - such as, get some of the Springett kits for practice - she gives you word-for-word instruction, and even how much to thread to measure off. Then the beginner is able to make something nice, as well as learn from the experience, so that going back to making the samples in TTWbk isn't so daunting. But the Torchon Workbook is quite good. I would also recommend the Doris Southard book - there are many pleasant little laces in it, and even though her working method differs slightly from some of the others, it all comes out looking like lace, and the movements are the same. I'm sure others on the list will give their opinions too. Good question! -- bye for now Bev in Sooke BC (on Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada) Cdn. floral bobbins www.woodhavenbobbins.com - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
