Hi Jane, Recently - well, about four years ago! - for our pearl wedding anniversary, we asked for just cards, as we have all the household equipment that we are ever likely to need, and asked people to donate the money they would have spent on presents to the Sarah Matheson Trust. This is a charity which funds research into Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) which my sister suffered from for several years, and is a very distressing and terminal condition. Thankfully, she was spared the awful things which happen in the later stages, but we all felt that donations to fight this terrible disease were more appropriate than presents for us! But - Jenny Hester made and spangled, in coral, a lovely commemorative bobbin for me, which is another one I treasure!
