Ok Jane in Vermont, now you have done it! I was happily bumbling
along with basic torchon lace, feeling proud that I have managed to
make some pieces that are not toooo shabby and along comes your link
to the Yarn Harlot. <wailing> I had given up knitting </wailing> Now
I can see the potential to spread my wings again.
Living in the tropics with no winter has its perks but knitting is
not one of them. I could not give away the knitting I was doing
(jumpers and socks).
Its too hot to wear wool
But it itches
It does not look as nice as synthetic
etc etc
Now I am thinking that I have let the side down by falling for all this.
But .... there are only so many hours in a day and I want to learn
milanese, honiton, bedfordshire and more torchon lace, do my
proficiencies in Torchon stages 1-3, have a go at stumpwork, teach my
grandies how to french knit, make some more stuff on the lathe, use
all the mangos that are falling off the trees, learn how to make a
database website, write my tutorials for the website, love my husband
(how did he end up so far down the list???)
So I guess my lament is "I NEED MORE TIME!" How can I go back to
knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, sewing - (notice that this is
all thread related? Never noticed that before) and still have time
before I die to do even a fraction of what I want to achieve.
See what a quandary you have put me in. I can not go back to knitting
but the Yarn Harlot could so tempt me.
