If the 'original' is already a copy (you wouldn't want to prick through
the pages of a book)
made with a copier which distorts slightly then any further copies, no
matter how accurate they may be, will remain distorted. Especially
relevant for BL patterns which are L shaped for a corner. One side
will be very slightly wider than the other and will have to be fudged
when the pieces are put together.

pricking. The scanning and copying was easy, but the fitting
together was
most definitely not, as I think the copying distorted the pricking
- only
very slightly, but enough to be a nuisance when putting the three
peices
together!
For future reference, since it sounds like you did get it together:
You might be able to use the original as a template and place three
pieces of paper under the original and cork board under it all. Then
prick through the original and all three layers. You get three
identical copies (identical to each other, and identical to the holes
you made, which is as close to or far from the original as the accuracy
of your pricking).
