Hi Carolyn and everyone Your 'rabbit' is fascinating - honitons do require special attention. To add to the many good ideas already - when I have an in-progress honiton pillow 'to go' I first pin a strip of fabric, that I've hemmed for the purpose, across the threads themselves. The pins are placed at either side of the array of threads, firmly anchoring them under the piece of fabric.I then gather the work cloth up and around the bobbins and pin through it between the bobbins with large headed pins, to keep them in one place. If I think that isn't sufficient, I place a second cloth, preferably something thick, such as pre-quilted fabric, over the whole and pin it firmly at its corners. Then the pillow and the basket I use for a stand/holder is placed into a carryall - if I don't have a bag big enough, a very large square piece of fabric gathered and knotted together at the corners makes an excellent sling. I try to keep the pillow in an upright position, just in case...
