Old Point Lace is made using machine made tapes joined together with a variety of NL type fillings. Branscombe is a type of "Old Point"

I've been looking at a book on ebay which is quite expensive, but is interesting. I've decided that it's beyond my immediate procurement budget, unfortunately. ; )

Perhaps fortunately :) I've never heard of the book nor have seen it referenced in newer books but I suspect I know the reason... I think the "Copying and Immitating" of the Old Point Lace is done via a crochet hook, the product type being listed as "lace, crochet & doilies". It may be a good buy for a bibliophile. Maybe even for a dedicated crocheter. But, for someone who's "into" Binche with all her soul? I doubt it.
