Old Point Lace is made using machine made tapes joined together with a
variety of NL type fillings. Branscombe is a type of "Old Point"

Perhaps fortunately :) I've never heard of the book nor have seen it
referenced in newer books but I suspect I know the reason... I think
the "Copying and Immitating" of the Old Point Lace is done via a
crochet hook, the product type being listed as "lace, crochet &
doilies". It may be a good buy for a bibliophile. Maybe even for a
dedicated crocheter. But, for someone who's "into" Binche with all her
soul? I doubt it.
