I started the Bucks point edging for my daughter's wedding veil in 1979 - I was new to lacemaking having just begun in 1977. Marty asked me once, "How long will my wedding veil be?" My reply, "Depends when you get married." She and James met in school in England, Class of '79 and were married in 1985 after both finished college. She had a lovely garden wedding and wore a tea length dress of cotton eyelet which I designed and sewed. Her shoulder-length veil was held with a tiara of fresh flowers.
