Yes! But that's just the point!! Different people want different
"behaviors" from their bobbins... so the square bobbins don't appeal to
everyone. If you toss your bobbins, you've got to have bobbins that
will roll...
Isn't it grand that there are so many different kinds of bobbins out
there? I've bought a few dozen of lots of different styles, and I've
found that if they don't "work for me", then it's easy enough to find
someone else who covets them, and so they find a good home (and usually
by the time I sell them for what I paid for them, the buyer is getting a
bargain!!).

That's really interesting - I went the opposite way and I sold all my
Continental bobbins. But if I had to start over, I'd use the square
bobbins. Not as pretty as the spangled ones, but they have the
advantage of not rolling and being easier to make sewings with.
