Reminds me of my own (pre-9/11) trip...
The first time I went to a lace workshop in Ithaca (New York State), I
flew. Since I wouldn't check in my pillow (what if it gets lost? The
whole weekend ruined) and it would not fit either in the overhead bin
or under the seat, I had it stowed, by the crew, in a clothes closet.
No problem, or none on the first "leg" of the trip. But then... I had
to change planes...
As I handed my pillow bag to the stewardess, I heard her mutter,
angrily, to another one: "That's the 5th one of *them*; I don't know
where I'll put them all, if any more show up".
At least I knew I was on the right flight :)
