I have been using those when bringing in extra pairs in the musical notes piece and it worked well, but I never thought of that to start a piece off. Mind you its a long time since I forgot to bring down tthose on temporary pins (says she who will need to be careful she doesn't have to eat those words:-) I think there are some pieces where that might be the answer to it all.
