Timing of this conversation great for me, I would never have thought of the
gloves or creams and am surprised that the creams and lotions dont mess up
the threads.

Hi Janice,
"catching" difficulty when working with Soie Ovale in
Cluny (lightly spun filament silk) and when spinning silk. It was
suggested to me that I try a product from Crabtree & Evelyn which I
have found works pretty well to smooth dry skin and keep it from
snagging the silk fibers. It is actually two complementary products:
one with which to wash your hands which contains a grainy material to
help exfoliate the skin, followed by a moisturizing cream. It is
called La Source Hand Therapy and Hand Recovery. I also noticed a
"Silk Spinner's" cream on the Treenway site Bev posted last night.
Might have to try that one sometime too!
In part:
the Thai silk is hardly spun at all, inthat it very easily becomes undone
and catches on every little thing. Similar to a Pipers silk I have used
in the past. My fingers are in a bad state after
