Many thanks to Sue Martin, Agnes Boddington and Anneke Reijs who replied to my query re the Sluis, Withof and Duchesse manuals. Anneke is of course the author so I have passed her details on to my friend who will make contact with her. Good on Arachne, got the answer within hours!! My friend is slightly technophobic and gets me to do her enquiries, but I am making her do the actual purchase as a learning curve!!!!
