Ob Lace: I've seen a lot on this list about bobbin lace, but nothing really
about needle lace. Is this list only for bobbin lace, or can people (like
me) who do needle lace (and into historical needle lace like reticello and
punto-in-aria) post and find people to talk to/help?
Arachne is for any kind of lace, not just bobbin - I suspect most of the
needlelace (and for that matter, other types too) makers on the list
don't post very often. There is at least one well known needlelace maker
lurking on the list, too!
I think we agreed that lace is "holes surrounded by thread" and that
anything that fits that description - or should it be "holes constructed
by being surrounded by thread, yarn, wire, etc" and anything that fits
that description is open for discussion. For a topic of conversation to
come up, somebody needs to raise it!
Well back in the archives you will find the postings Jane Viking Swanson
made about her Battenberg Lace - and the discussions we had as to the
origins of similar tape laces. Wonder what she's up to these days....
