It is quite obvious to me that venues to hold lace meetings are hen's teeth all over the world! Our meetings here in South Africa are planned in exactly the same way as described by other people on the list. Here in Cape Town we meet in the hall of a Catholic church - a lovely hall I must say with kitchen facilities and a room where we can keep our cupboard with the library and adequate parking. We do have a librarian who keeps very tight reins on the library but even then some books disappear. The rental is very reasonable and we have been meeting there for about 10 years now. When the Guild celebrated their 25 th Anniversary we even had a sit-down dinner in the hall! >From our little village there are four of us that go to Cape Town once a month - a journey of one-and-a-half hours there in the morning and the same back in the evening. It is a lovely drive though and we do it at the drop of a hat. The four of us meet regularly once a week at a home of one of us which is easy as we do not have a library etc.
