I think that what you may have heard is that when people design a
pattern, they often use architects parchment because you can create your
"cartoon" first, and then with the parchment laid over the cartoon, you
draw in the diagram of how you want the lace made. It's very good to
use for reconstructions. There are different weights of parchment, and
often Architects parchment is the heavy weight, so be sure it is lighter
weight if you want to be able to see through it well enough to work.

Do any of you researcher lacemakers out there know if I am right. I have just
taken an offcut to see what it feels like to use. I am not convinced though,
just by looking at it after using card for so long.
