A friend was recently lent a bag full of unused bobbins belonging to a European lady - possibly Estonian, Pene.
The bobbins are all very cheap plain wood, simply turned. Instead of coming to a point at the end, they are flared out, and are hollow inside. There are 60 of these, all identical. Can anyone enlighten me on what the hollow is for? The bobbins are very lightweight, is a metal plug of some sort inserted?
