All those problems I didn't know before I gave classes in the US because in the
English written books I looked more at the drawings. So I decided to say CTCT
or linen stitch plus twist when I want that my students worked whole stitch. It
worked not bad.
Later I was in Australia and again different meanings about this stitch so I
used the sam trick and it worked well except some persons who didn't listen as
long as it needed to say it.
By the way here in Germany we have two versions for all stitches. It depends if
you work on a roller or a flat
So Alice, you could add to your list
half stitch TC or CT
linen stitch CTC or TCT
whole stitch CTCT or TCTC

everything clear now ;-))))
