Karen (and everyone) in gmail,
That has happened to me a couple of times but there are ways to highlight
then delete without losing the whole message. Sometimes it is caused by
code embedded in the received message so if the entire delete is happening
and you want to quote just part of a message, highlight and copy that part,
then select all, hit delete to get rid of everything else, then paste to
retrieve the quote. I don't know how easy that would be with cell phone
e-mail.

Otherwise, memorize what you want to keep in mind, then clear the whole
message and type your reply. You will have to type in whatever signature
you like to use, because that is lost with select-all, delete.

Hope this helps?
