Dear Maureen et al,
What is cake wire made of? Does anyone know?
I dilute the Jana Novak stiffener, at least that's more or less where I got it
from, with water. Then I take a small paintbrush with the stiffener on it and
just touch the lace. I did this for Rosemary Shepard's {sp?] flowers, which
are in fairly thick linen, and it was absorbed and didn't get onto the pricking
or pillow at all. Sort of just paint only on the lace. Stops connections
between the threads, and any connections with the pricking. Gives much more
control.
I can readily see that hairspray would wash off, but does the acrylic stiffener
wash out?
Lyn in Lancaster, Pennsylvania USA where the weather will again be lovely, but
I have to sit inside slaving at the computer on non-lace-related work that I am
heartily sick of, and which will probably continue until next Friday. Yuck.
