Dear Antje & other kind Arachneans,
Thank you for your concern for those of us in the mid-Atlantic and
Northeast states. I live in the suburbs of Washington, DC and many in
our area suffered downed trees and power outages as well as flooding.
In my neighborhood, we were generally fortunate with no serious damage
or power loss, only a few limbs and branches down from our
"self-pruning" trees which we have already cut up for the fireplace. I
returned home on Sunday from North Carolina after attending the
Southeastern Animal Fiber Festival (SAFF), and on the drive home we saw
a number of bucket trucks from Alabama Power and Houston (Texas)
Electric on their way north to assist in restoring the anticipated
power outages. It appears that New York and New Jersey suffered the
most damage.
For lace content, I bought some quiviut (muskox) down at SAFF which I
am planning to spin for a BL scarf, as well as some cashmere and silk
yarn for a lace knit shawl. Some much fiber...so little time...(-:

I am also watching the TV news with preoccupation and think a lot of all
Arachneans living in the area. Is everybody OK?
Best wishes from Antje, in Spain.
