Then we need to know whether the two day class option created greater
attendance, and if so, whether an AGM on either Monday or Thursday night would
have resulted in a quorum anyway, and if not, how to deal with this situation.
Which is more desirable, the rule concerning a quorum, or greater total
numbers at the convention? Is there a way to accommodate both, if necessary?
There are logical progressions to these considerations. May not need to get
to an either or situation. Again, data on attendance, who did what, would be
useful. The big question is, What Works? lrb

Does anyone know the rationale for the requirement that classes not be given
on two days only? lrb

One rationale is that the By Laws require that the Annual General Meeting have
1/3 of the attendees at the convention present in order to have a quorum to
vote on things. I think that the fear is that if you have a convention where
people can come in and take a class on Mon-Tues, staying one night in a hotel,
then leave, and others come in and do the same on Thurs-Fri, while some stay
the entire week, you may not have enough people to satisfy the quorum
requirement.
