If one is talking about the current year's issues, the yes The Lace Guild would probably prefer people not to give their copies of Lace away (we would hope that they want to keep them for a while anyway) as that may make someone feel they don't need to belong themselves, especially if they think they can get a regular supply.
Giving away older magazines however happens quite commonly, and perhaps if anything it might give someone who has never seen them previously the chance to find out about lace and The Lace Guild. Possibly they may even be inspired to join us in order to get the latest copies.
